New OurFuture.eu - Running on aFramework

Published Monday 22nd of February 2010

I've mentioned before that I've been semi-busy (I still find time to snorkel :) with freelance.

A few days ago we went live with the new site (OurFuture.eu) and I'm pleased with how it all worked out.

The new version of "Our Life as Elderly" runs on aFramework v3 and it's been a joy working on it because of that.

I had almost everything up and running, looking like it does now, after about 15 hours of work. Obviously few projects are finished on day 1 so there's been a few tweaks and additions since then.

aFramework really helps speed up development because all the standard functionality is already there. Like a proper 404, Google-powered search, breadcrumbs and language-switcher, and if you extend aBlog and aCMS (which OurFuture does) you'll also get support for articles, comments and tags as well as "pages" (basically whatever contents you want on any URL you like).

Why not try it out? The installer shouldn't take longer than a couple of minutes. Or perhaps you'd like to try the demo first?

Till next time!
